Management of Hazardous Chemicals


Given the multi-use of chemicals in various areas of modern life, especially in the fields of industry and household uses, etc., and in order to ensure the safety of humans and the environment from potential dangers and hazards resulting from using or handling of these chemicals hazards, the Supreme Council for the Environment, represented by the Environmental Assessment and Control Department, monitors the import, export, use, storage and handling of chemicals used in industry and services of all kinds. It also licenses them, according to the Ministerial Edict No (7) of 2002 on the Control of the Import and Use of Banned and Severely Restricted Chemicals, and the Ministerial Edict No (4) of 2006 concerning the management of hazardous chemicals.
